Joby Aviation and Toyota Launch Manufacturing Alliance to Scale eVTOL Aircraft Production

Joby Aviation and Toyota Motor Corporation have launched the initial phase of a strategic manufacturing alliance aimed at accelerating the industrialization and large-scale production of Joby's electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The collaboration marks a new stage in the companies' long-standing partnership, combining Joby's aircraft development expertise with Toyota's experience in advanced manufacturing, production engineering, and quality systems to support the commercialization of electric air mobility.

As part of the initiative, Toyota engineers are now working alongside Joby's manufacturing teams in California, helping refine production processes, optimize factory operations, and introduce proven automotive manufacturing practices to aircraft production. The collaboration is intended to improve manufacturing efficiency while supporting higher production volumes as Joby prepares for commercial operations.
Toyota has also begun supplying key manufacturing equipment to Joby's production facilities. The equipment is expected to help standardize production processes, improve manufacturing precision, and increase operational efficiency as aircraft output scales.
