Bcomp and Porsche Motorsport Launch Next-Gen Natural Fibre Composites at Nürburgring 24H

Bcomp, in long-standing collaboration with Four Motors and Porsche Motorsport, is introducing the latest evolution of its natural fibre composite technology at the iconic 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours. For the first time, the Four Motors Porsche GT3 Cup will feature body components made from Bcomp’s new grey ampliTex™ material, setting a benchmark in motorsport aesthetics and sustainability.

Building on previous programs such as the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS, 718 GT4 RS Clubsport, and Mission R concept, this latest showcase reflects a strategic step forward in integrating sustainable, high-performance composites into competitive racing. Ken Kruck, Sales Representative Motorsports at Bcomp, remarked, “These new processes allow us to deliver a new look for natural fibre composites that is not only high-performing but also road-relevant. Following the success of coloured ampliTex™ in car interiors, we’re proud to bring our signature Bcomp grey to the racetrack.”

The natural flax-fibre components — including the hood, rear wing end plates, and front bumper dive planes — were reverse engineered by Bcomp using its ampliTex™ fabrics combined with powerRibs™ reinforcement. Replacing traditional aluminum and carbon fiber, these new parts achieve equivalent stiffness and weight while exceeding carbon fiber in vibration damping by 250% and offering improved crash performance. Importantly, they also dramatically reduce environmental impact, with up to 85% lower CO₂ emissions during production

This transition to a painted finish — rather than the adhesive film typically used in race vehicles — underscores ampliTex™'s readiness for broader road car applications, blending visual appeal with manufacturing feasibility. The Bcomp grey tone also elevates the visual profile of natural composites, expanding beyond the familiar golden hue of flax fibres to offer OEMs greater aesthetic flexibility.

For Four Motors, a pioneer in eco-conscious racing with its Bioconcept-Cars, this integration aligns with its long-term commitment to sustainable innovation. “A major paradigm shift is taking place,” said Thomas von Löwis of Menar, CEO and driver at Four Motors. “We’re demonstrating that high performance and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand, not just for motorsport but for the broader mobility sector.”

The Nürburgring Nordschleife — the “Green Hell” — provides the ultimate proving ground for this material innovation. “The implemented components were created in collaboration with Bcomp and Porsche Motorsport to demonstrate the next step in the development of natural fibre components,” added Matthias Scholz, Director GT Racecars at Porsche Motorsport. “These findings will influence future Porsche products.”
