Pultron Expands GFRP Infrastructure Footprint with New Australian Hub for Corrosion-Free Construction

Pultron Composites, a New Zealand-based advanced composites manufacturer specialising in high-performance fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) solutions, has been selected as the winner of The Ultimate HQ, a global business attraction initiative led by the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) and the City of Moreton Bay in Queensland, Australia. Chosen from close to 200 local and international entries.

The decision signals strong Australian demand for Pultron's flagship infrastructure technologies - Mateenbar, Mateenbar Mesh, and engineered Mateenbar Bends - and marks the establishment of a permanent Australian base within the Moreton Bay innovation precinct at UniSC.

Mateenbar Reinforcement System - Engineering Out Corrosion

Pultron's Mateenbar system comprises corrosion-free GFRP reinforcing bar, prefabricated reinforcement mesh, and precision-engineered structural bends, designed for demanding structural applications including bridges, seawalls, ports, marine structures, and industrial assets. Unlike steel, Mateenbar reinforcement does not corrode. It is significantly lighter than steel, highly durable, and eliminates the concrete cancer and maintenance cycles that cost asset owners billions annually.

Jasper Holdsworth, CEO of Pultron Composites, said: Australia spends more than $8 billion every year repairing corrosion damage. That is steel rusting inside concrete. So we changed the material - not just a single product, but a complete reinforcement system - corrosion-free rebar, engineered bends, and prefabricated mesh. The material is twice as strong as steel, one quarter the weight, lower in carbon, and can double infrastructure life. Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads has evaluated our technology, approved it, and now specifies it in major infrastructure projects.

Manufactured under ISO-certified quality systems, Pultron's Mateenbar system is already specified and supplied into projects across Australia, the United States, the Middle East, and New Zealand.
