PINETTE PEI, a leading provider of industrial solutions for the stamping forming of composite materials, has announced the commissioning of its Large-Scale Stamping Press — claimed to be the world's largest thermoplastic press for this application.
The press features 5m×2m platens and delivers 30,000 kN of forming force, enabling production of very large thermoplastic composite parts in a single stamp-forming cycle.
Transfer time between heating and pressing is under 5 seconds, maintained through autonomous robotic systems integrated into the press line.
The system features thermal oil circulation for uniform platen temperature control and an automated tool changeover system for flexible production.
The press was deployed at Airbus Aerostructures in Bremen in December 2024, targeting the production of next-generation aircraft structural components.
