BMW Group has announced a major milestone in its longstanding collaboration with Swiss cleantech company Bcomp, confirming that Bcomp's high-performance natural fiber composite materials will be integrated into the exterior and interior components of future BMW series production vehicles, including the upcoming BMW M3.

Bcomp's ampliTex and powerRibs flax-based materials will be used, delivering up to 40% CO2 reduction compared to conventional composite alternatives.

The BMW M3 roof is being manufactured via RTM (resin transfer moulding) using the natural fiber materials.

BMW i Ventures participated in Bcomp's Series B round in 2022 and Series C round in 2024, reinforcing the strategic investment relationship.
