Segula Technologies, an international engineering group, is accelerating its global expansion with the opening of its first office in South Africa and a new aerospace-focused office in Brazil.

South Africa: a new hub for sub-Saharan Africa
Located in Cape Town s Constantia district, Segula s new office will serve as a regional hub for sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in the energy sector, covering oil and gas, renewables, hydrogen, energy storage, and nuclear technologies. The group is also targeting opportunities in rail, automotive, and mining.

To kick off its activities, Segula has signed a memorandum of understanding with AllWeld, a South African industrial services firm with six decades of experience. The collaboration combines AllWeld s local expertise with Segula s international scale.

Segula s ambitions extend beyond South Africa: neighbouring countries such as Namibia and Zambia offer strong potential in hydrogen. In rail, the group is partnering with major players on rolling stock, signalling, and advanced systems, while South Africa s established automotive sector, home to eight global OEMs, remains a growth driver.

Jean-Christophe Godet, Managing Director of Segula South Africa, said: The opening of our Cape Town office marks a key step in our international expansion. South Africa s strong industrial base, skilled talent pool, and strategic location make it an ideal regional hub. We aim to recruit over 100 employees by 2028 to develop agile, future-oriented engineering capacity.

    Brazil: strengthening aerospace leadership
In parallel, Segula has reinforced its presence in Latin America by opening a new engineering office in S o Jos dos Campos, S o Paulo State, within the Parque de Inova o Tecnol gica (PIT). The site positions Segula at the heart of Brazil s aerospace ecosystem and aligns with its new membership in the Brazilian Aerospace Cluster.

The Brazilian office will employ 150 engineers by 2030 and focus on synergies with leading aircraft and equipment manufacturers. Segula brings expertise across the full lifecycle of aerospace programmes, from design to maintenance, covering aircraft, helicopters, and drones.

The group is also advancing sustainable aviation, with research into lightweight composite structures, eco-design, hydrogen propulsion systems, and life-cycle analysis. Beyond aerospace, Segula applies its composites expertise in rail, automotive, and industrial applications, supporting lightweighting and performance improvements.

Richard Demoucelle, Vice President of Segula s Aerospace Division, underlined the strategic importance: Brazil, and S o Jos dos Campos in particular, has become one of the world s largest aerospace hubs. Establishing a presence here is a necessity for a global company like Segula.
