Polestar s flagship
electric SUV, the Polestar 3, has officially entered the record books.
The Long range Single motor variant achieved 935.44 km (581.3 miles) on
a single charge, securing the Guinness World Record for the longest journey
by an electric SUV without recharging.
The feat took 22 hours and 57
minutes in mixed weather conditions, with professional drivers Sam Clarke,
Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker alternating every three hours. The Polestar 3
achieved an impressive efficiency of 12.1 kWh/100 km (19.5 kWh/100 miles)
and still had 20% battery remaining after reaching its WLTP-rated 706 km (438
miles). Remarkably, it continued for an additional 12.8 km (8 miles)
after the display showed 0% battery before reaching a charger.
Polestar CEO Michael
Lohscheller, said We are very proud to say we have a world record holder
in the Polestar family! This official Guinness World Record for range is
another proof point that Polestar 3 is setting new standards.
The record attempt was
independently adjudicated by Guinness World Records judge Paulina Sapinska,
supported by Webfleet with GPS tracking, video evidence, and odometer readings.
The SUV was completely unmodified, riding on standard 20-inch wheels and
Michelin Sport 4 EV tyres, with AA providing roadside support.
Sustainability in Focus
Beyond performance, the Polestar
3 also showcases innovation in sustainable materials. First revealed at Polestar
Day 2023, the SUV integrates natural fiber composites from Bcomp
(Switzerland) in its interior. These composites use Polestar s signature
weave for a premium yet eco-friendly finish, offering:
Maximilian Missoni, Polestar Head
of Design, emphasized: After years of development with our suppliers and
Bcomp, we ve unlocked the key to applying natural fiber composites in
high-volume production. This is a major step toward more sustainable interiors
in future Polestar models.
Polestar s Growing Lineup
Polestar currently offers three
models, Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and Polestar 4, with new entries
planned, including the Polestar 5 GT (2025), the Polestar 6 roadster,
and the Polestar 7 compact SUV, which will also expand the company s
manufacturing footprint to Europe.
