Kineco Group, a leading
Indian specialist in advanced composite solutions for aerospace,
defence, rail, and renewable energy, has acquired TRB Lightweight Structures
Ltd (TRBLS), a UK-based manufacturer with over 70 years of expertise in
lightweight rail components.
The acquisition represents a key
milestone for Kineco Global Rail, the flagship rail brand of Kineco
Group, reinforcing its strategy to become a global leader in turnkey rail
interior systems. TRB is a long-standing supplier to leading rolling stock
manufacturers across Europe and Asia, known for its advanced lightweight
structures and heritage of innovation.
The deal follows Kineco s
December 2024 acquisition of Semvac A/S, a premier European brand in
railway sanitation systems, further consolidating marquee names under the
Kineco Global Rail umbrella. Together, TRB and Semvac will leverage Kineco s vertically
integrated engineering and manufacturing base in Goa, India, enabling
scale, competitiveness, and wider global reach.
The acquisition of TRB
Lightweight Structures is aligned with the long-term strategic roadmap of our
rail-focused brand, Kineco Global Rail. TRB s legacy and expertise in
lightweight rail interiors make it a perfect strategic fit. Combined with
Semvac, both brands will now benefit from Kineco s strong infrastructure in Goa
dedicated to rail interiors, helping us achieve scale, competitiveness, and
global customer reach. I wholeheartedly welcome the TRB team into the Kineco
family, said Shekhar Sardessai, Chairman & Managing Director, Kineco
Group.
This new chapter with Kineco
allows us to focus our energy and resources on the rail sector, where our
expertise and heritage are strongest. Together, we will build on TRB s
reputation for quality and innovation to deliver even greater value to our customers
worldwide, added Paul Colquitt, Managing Director of TRB Lightweight
Structures Ltd.
The acquisition was facilitated
by Pravin S. Mistry, Global CEO of PREA Ltd., Manchester, UK, who
introduced and advised both companies in the transaction.
TRB will continue to operate
under its established brand identity, retaining leadership and its UK
manufacturing footprint. Backed by Kineco s integrated platform, the company is
now positioned to broaden its product portfolio, enhance efficiencies, and enter
new geographies.
