At the Paris
Air Show, KVE, a subsidiary of Daher,
and Pinette PEI announced a
strategic, non-exclusive partnership to jointly supply induction welding
equipment for the assembly of thermoplastic composite components in aerospace
applications. The collaboration aims to deliver an integrated solution that combines
thermoplastic stamp forming and part assembly via induction welding, key
technologies for high-rate, sustainable
aircraft manufacturing.
With a shared vision
to drive the adoption of thermoplastic composites,
the partnership brings together KVE s INDUCT welding technology and Pinette
PEI s expertise in thermoplastic forming equipment. The solution promises
improved cycle times, greater design flexibility through larger part sizes,
weight reduction, enhanced recyclability, and lower production costs.
This agreement
marks an important milestone for implementing KVE INDUCT technology worldwide,
said Pierre Rouch, Managing Director of
KVE. Pinette is a natural partner thanks to their complementary capabilities
and long-standing expertise in thermoplastic production equipment.
Erick
Rousseau, CEO of Pinette PEI, added: By joining forces with KVE, we re
offering a fully integrated and automated production solution, from material
preparation and stamping to welding and NDT control. This significantly
enhances both the quality and productivity of thermoplastic composite parts.
Under the
agreement, Pinette PEI will handle system-level design and manufacturing of the
production cells, while KVE will supply welding-specific hardware, software,
and custom weld tooling. The two companies will also align their sales efforts
and install a dedicated R&D welding setup at Pinette s Tifaani facility to
demonstrate and develop next-generation thermoplastic processing technologies.
