Established in 1979, Jobs,
a leading Italian manufacturer of high-power, high-speed 3- and 5-axis milling
systems, has expanded its Speeder line with the launch of the new GrandSpeeder
Ultra. The 5-axis overhead gantry milling centre is designed for advanced
machining of composites and lightweight materials in aerospace,
automotive, and racing sectors.
The machine integrates
energy-efficient and environmentally conscious design features, reflecting
Jobs push toward reducing operating costs and simplifying maintenance. During
a July open house, the GrandSpeeder Ultra demonstrated its high-dynamic performance,
receiving strong customer feedback.
A key differentiator is Jobs Jobsonic
ultrasonic cutting tool, a technology adapted from the food industry to
handle fragile honeycomb structures without deformation. Mounted automatically
via a tool changer, Jobsonic enables chip-free cutting, orbital drilling, and
milling with accuracy up to ten times higher than conventional machines. This
advancement allows automated, unmanned operations while preserving material
integrity.
Jobs further distinguishes itself
with CNC cycles tailored for honeycomb trimming, feedrate optimisation
algorithms, and 3D twin simulation for toolpath verification. Its machines
integrate ATEX-certified multi-stage vacuum systems for safe dust and swarf
extraction, particularly when machining aluminium cores.
Looking ahead, Jobs is investing
in Industry 4.0 and IoT integration, enabling condition-based monitoring
and predictive maintenance. Supported by EU-backed Transition 5.0 initiatives,
the company is embedding sustainability into its machine tool developments,
with ultrasonic cutting positioned as both a cost-effective and environmentally
friendly solution.
Choosing Jobs means choosing a
partner for technological and mutual development, the company stated,
underscoring its long-standing focus on turnkey solutions and R&D-driven
innovation.
