Hexagon Digital Wave, a
subsidiary of Hexagon Composites, has entered into a long-term agreement
(LTA) with a leading U.S. oilfield services company to provide exclusive
requalification services for its fleet of virtual pipeline trailers. The
agreement will run through the end of 2027.
The company will deploy its
proprietary Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE) technology for in-situ
requalification, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance in gas
transportation. MAE is regarded as the most accurate inspection method for composite
cylinders, enabling operators to minimize downtime while obtaining detailed
data on the structural integrity of composite laminates, insights not
achievable through legacy hydrostatic testing.
We are proud to partner with
this premier oilfield service company to ensure the reliability and safety of
their gas transportation fleet, said Dr. Brian Burks, President at Hexagon
Digital Wave. Our commitment is to deliver superior service directly in
customer geographies, reducing logistical challenges and ensuring an efficient
requalification process.
The rise in demand for alternative
fuels has spurred a sharp increase in compressed gas transport across North
America. Regulatory requirements mandate requalification of composite tube
trailers, including virtual pipeline and Mobile Pipeline modules, every
five years. By pioneering MAE technology, Hexagon Digital Wave has already requalified
over 800 composite gas distribution trailers across the region,
strengthening its position as a key enabler of safe, efficient, and sustainable
gas transport.
