EHang Holdings Limited, a global leader in urban air mobility (UAM) technology, announced the signing of an investment cooperation agreement with the Hefei government to establish a major product hub for its new VT35 series of long-range, lift-and-cruise, pilotless eVTOL aircraft.

The agreement covers R&D, testing, manufacturing, airworthiness certification, supply chain management, sales, operations, and talent development at EHang s East China Regional Headquarters in Hefei. The total investment is estimated at RMB 1 billion, with additional comprehensive support of about RMB 500 million from the Hefei government through aircraft orders, investments, and industry cooperation.

The VT35, EHang s next-generation passenger-carrying eVTOL, is designed for medium- to long-distance routes, including intercity, cross-sea, and cross-mountain transport. Building on the carbon fiber composite VT30 prototype, the VT35 incorporates advanced autonomous flight control, improved propulsion systems, and enhanced reliability.

In February 2025, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) accepted EHang s Type Certificate (TC) application for the VT35. Certification work will be conducted in Hefei, targeting the TC, Production Certificate (PC), and Standard Airworthiness Certificate (AC). The Company and its joint venture Hefei Heyi Aviation will also pursue the first Air Operator Certificate (OC) for VT35 commercial operations in East China.

Local leaders, including Mr. Gaoyun Fei, Secretary of the CPC Hefei Municipal Committee, highlighted EHang s role in advancing the city s low-altitude economy. EHang Founder, Chairman, and CEO Mr. Huazhi Hu emphasized Hefei s supportive supply chain and policies, noting recent milestones such as EH216-S commercial flights and breakthroughs in solid-state lithium eVTOL batteries.

This partnership positions Hefei as a core hub for advanced air mobility industrialization in China and accelerates commercialization of pilotless eVTOL technologies.
