Archer has announced two strategic acquisitions to accelerate development of its next-generation defense aircraft, building on its December 2024 partnership with Anduril to co-develop hybrid, autonomous VTOL military platforms and a $1.3 billion capital raise.

To meet growing demand from allied defense programs, Archer has acquired a patent portfolio and key talent from Overair, a spin-off of Karem Aircraft known for advanced tiltrotor technology. Additionally, Archer purchased key composite manufacturing assets and a ~60,000-square-foot facility from Mission Critical Composites in Southern California, bringing high-performance composite fabrication in-house for rapid prototyping and iteration.

The moves align with surging industry momentum, following the Pentagon s recent $13.4 billion budget request for autonomous military systems. These acquisitions are part of our commitment we re working to accelerate our product development to meet our country s needs, said Adam Goldstein, founder and CEO of Archer.
