Aerospace engineering specialist Airframe Designs has doubled its operational capacity
with the expansion of its headquarters and services for customers across
the aviation, defence, and space sectors.
The company has significantly increased its capabilities in additive manufacturing, design, analysis,
and 3D scanning through further investment in space and technology at its facility in Blackpool.
The extra space and investment in technology means we are able to offer
increased capacity to our customers, including our expanding additive
manufacturing services, said Jerrod
Hartley, CEO of Airframe Designs. There is also more room for clean and
extraction processes as well as more space for the stress and design teams and
our advanced manufacturing processes.
Alongside the physical expansion, Airframe Designs is growing its
workforce and investing in future talent, with six apprentices supporting its
experienced team of engineers. Our teams work closely together and span an age
range of five decades with skills in design, analysis, certification and
manufacturing, Hartley added.
The upgraded headquarters now features dedicated display areas to
showcase products, additional meeting rooms, and breakout spaces for
collaboration.
Airframe Designs has built a reputation for producing highly complex components for some of the world s largest
aerospace and defence organisations.
Recent projects include integrating new
systems into heavy-lift drone platforms, conceptual design of uncrewed air systems, test rigs and tooling
for electric vehicle propulsion systems, and the design and analysis of
operator consoles for special mission aircraft.
