CRP Technology announces that the Generative Orthoses project, developed in collaboration with MHOX and Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli (IOR), has been selected as one of the winning projects in the WORTH Partnership Project II 3rd Call. This prestigious recognition highlights the cutting-edge, sustainable approach behind the project, which aims to revolutionize the production of orthotic devices through the use of CRP’s 3D printing solution and Windform GT as the manufacturing SLS material.

The WORTH II 3rd Call saw record-breaking participation, with 142 applications and 320 applicants from 34 EU-COSME-associated countries. After a rigorous evaluation process, 69 projects were selected for funding, featuring 158 partners from 25 countries across Europe.

These projects tackle a variety of challenges, including circular economydigital manufacturingsustainable productionhigh-performance materials, and social innovation.

Generative Orthoses was chosen for its transformative potential in digital manufacturing, offering mass customisation solutions for orthotic devices through the integration of digital body scanningcomputational design, and 3D printing technologies.

Over the past eight years, MHOX, CRP Technology, and Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli have worked together to develop this groundbreaking system, which combines body scanning, 3D digital design, and 3D printing to produce custom orthoses. The project incorporates biomimetic design and advanced manufacturing techniques, improving both form and function while providing essential support, rehabilitation, and postural correction.

Looking forward, CRP TechnologyMHOX, and Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli continue to refine and automate their design processes, ensuring that the production of fully customized orthotic devices becomes scalable and market-ready. With ongoing innovations in Windform GT, the Generative Orthoses project is set to make personalized orthotic solutions more accessiblesustainable, and effective for a broader patient base.
