Waste PET Upcycled into High-Performance Epoxy Toughener
Researchers in China have developed a one-pot process that converts post-consumer PET waste into hyperbranched oligomers for epoxy toughening. The PET-derived additive increased epoxy impact strength by 98.9% at only 0.3 wt.% loading while retaining key mechanical, optical, and thermal properties.
