UAVOS, a maker of unmanned systems, has produced another batch of composite rotor blades for its helicopters using its own in-house-designed OVEN-500-2000 composite curing oven. The blades, built from multi-layer carbon composite with a NACA 23012 airfoil profile and an aviation-grade foam core, are rated for up to 3,000 hours of service, with an optional bonded stainless-steel leading-edge insert available for added erosion and impact protection.
UAVOS's founder and CEO said the company relies on the same oven to cure the flight-critical parts used in its own helicopters, giving customers confidence in using it for their own composite applications, which can range from prepreg curing to post-curing high-temperature molds across aerospace, marine, automotive and R&D uses. The ovens are CE marked and manufactured and quality-assured entirely in-house.
