Syensqo is investing in a new high-performance aromatic polymer compounding line at its Panoli site in India, with operations planned for Q1 2028. The new line will double the company’s existing compounding capacity at the facility and form the first asset in a planned modular compounding hub.
The facility will compound several advanced engineering polymers, including Ryton polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), KetaSpire polyetheretherketone (PEEK), Amodel polyphthalamide (PPA), and Ixef polyarylamide (PARA). The flexible setup is designed to allow production to adapt to changing customer and market requirements.
Syensqo said the investment is aimed particularly at India’s rapidly growing automotive sector, where high-performance polymers are increasingly used for applications requiring high-temperature resistance, chemical resistance, mechanical performance, and lightweighting. These materials can support weight reduction and performance improvements in demanding automotive components.
The investment will also strengthen local sourcing for Indian and global automotive manufacturers and suppliers while supporting the broader Make in India manufacturing push. Syensqo said the new capacity will also serve opportunities beyond automotive applications.
The Panoli expansion builds on Syensqo’s existing manufacturing and research presence in India and supports its broader strategy of bringing advanced material production closer to customers across the Asia-Pacific region.
