Perseus Materials, a member of the 2023 cohort of Innovation Crossroads, has secured a strategic investment from Lockheed Martin Ventures to catalyse growth of its modular additive composite manufacturing platform designed to reduce tooling costs, lower energy demand and enable on-site production of large structural composite components. The backing will support team expansion, fulfilment of initial customer orders and extension of the company s manufacturing footprint, reinforcing demand for advanced composite fabrication approaches that strengthen the U.S. industrial base in defence and heavy industrial markets.

Founded in 2022, Perseus is advancing large scale composite manufacturing with a modular additive system designed to reduce tooling, lower energy demand, and enable production directly in the field. Early applications span large-scale industrial components, as well as maritime and defense use cases. The company also recently won the JEC World 2025 startup competition and will showcase its technology at JEC World 2026.

Lockheed Martin s investment reflects growing demand for advanced manufacturing approaches that strengthen the U.S. industrial base and accelerate innovation in national defense. Support from Roadrunner Venture Studios and federal grants has also helped the company scale from research breakthrough to commercial deployment.
