MPM Group, a prominent UK-based manufacturer of
composite mouldings and components, has announced the acquisition of Lamplas Ltd., a fellow
long-established specialist in fibreglass
and composite mouldings manufacture.
The strategic alignment of the two businesses provides both parties with
enhanced manufacturing capability, technical expertise, and broader market
reach, securing skilled jobs in the sector. This is very much part of MPM
Group s long-term growth strategy to expand its footprint in the UK composites
sector and helps to continue its investment in high-quality British
manufacturing.
As part of a
larger organisation with facilities spanning over 100,000 sq. ft, and shared capability and expertise, both teams,
combining over 90+ skilled team members,
will benefit from stability, stronger career pathways, and the chance to
collaborate on bigger and more complex projects.
By bringing Lamplas into the MPM Group, customers
will benefit from faster turnaround
times and greater technical expertise. Together, the businesses are better
positioned to deliver innovative, high-quality composites while supporting the
resilience of UK manufacturing.
Operations at Lamplas will continue as normal, with the existing team and facility remaining in place. Over time, the companies will work together to share best practices and collaborate on projects, bringing further value to our customers' supply chains.
Ben Wilson, Managing Director of MPM Group / Composites UK Board Member, added: "We ve long admired the work of Lamplas and worked together on various projects for over 20 years. Their product quality and desire for better have helped them build the business they have. This acquisition brings two long-established family businesses together, combining our strengths, qualities, and values to bring even more value to our customers' supply chains. We re excited about the opportunities ahead, working with a great team and welcome Lamplas into the MPM family.
