KBC Corporation is supplying long-fiber carbon-ceramic brake discs for Xiaomi's high-performance SU7 Ultra, bringing advanced carbon-based composite technology to one of China's most performance-focused electric sedans. KBC lists the system with 430 × 40-mm front discs and 410 × 32-mm rear discs.
The brake discs use KBC's long-fiber-reinforced carbon-ceramic technology, which combines a carbon-fiber architecture with a ceramic matrix to deliver high thermal resistance, braking stability, and reduced mass. KBC says its carbon-ceramic discs can achieve more than 60% weight reduction compared with conventional cast-iron brake discs, helping reduce unsprung mass while supporting vehicle handling and efficiency.
The large dimensions of the SU7 Ultra's braking system are also the result of performance-driven customization. Xiaomi says the vehicle uses 430-mm front and 410-mm rear carbon-ceramic discs, making them the largest carbon-ceramic discs available on sedans at the time of its development. The system also incorporates 10 sets of stainless-steel fasteners, while the drilling pattern and internal airflow channels were specifically developed for the vehicle's braking requirements.
KBC has developed its carbon-ceramic technology for a growing range of high-performance vehicles. Its products have also been applied to the Hyper SSR and BYD's Yangwang models, with the company becoming China's first supplier to deliver carbon-ceramic brake discs for a mass-produced vehicle when the Hyper SSR entered production in 2023.
The technology is now also moving into motorsport. In 2026, KBC became an official partner of the Xiaomi China Endurance Championship, supplying a dedicated carbon-ceramic brake package designed to withstand more than 400 minutes of continuous operation under demanding racing conditions.
KBC's expansion reflects the increasing use of carbon-based composite materials in electric and high-performance vehicles, where reducing unsprung mass while maintaining braking performance and thermal stability is becoming increasingly important.
