Gurit has opened an Advanced Composites R&D Center in Tianjin, China, expanding its global research capabilities alongside existing R&D centers and testing hubs in the UK, India and New Zealand. Set to be fully operational by the end of 2025, the center will focus on researching, developing, analyzing and testing PET materials, with its proximity to Gurit's Tianjin PET manufacturing facility expected to shorten development cycles and speed up responses to innovation needs in wind energy and other sectors.
During the inauguration, Gurit and representatives from the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area discussed opportunities to jointly build advanced industrial ecosystems and support the region's shift toward high-end, intelligent manufacturing.
