FACC has opened an expanded production facility at its Jakovlje site in Croatia following a €36 million investment. The expansion triples the site's production area and increases manufacturing capacity for the growing aviation market.
The expanded facility is FACC's largest production site outside Austria. The Jakovlje location now employs more than 500 people. The company is continuing to expand the site as aircraft manufacturers prepare for higher production rates.
The investment adds manufacturing capacity for lightweight aircraft components. The facility already incorporates automated production equipment and composite manufacturing systems. These capabilities are intended to support stable production processes and higher production volumes.
FACC is expanding capacity in response to rising aircraft demand. The company cited 18,700 firm aircraft orders globally and a projected increase in the worldwide fleet from 23,210 aircraft to 45,550 by 2045. These trends are driving higher production requirements across the aerospace supply chain.
The Jakovlje site originally began production in 2021. Its initial focus was the manufacture of lightweight cabin components for commercial aircraft and business jets. FACC subsequently expanded the facility to increase production capacity and integrate additional manufacturing technologies.
The latest expansion forms part of FACC's broader investment program. The company plans to invest approximately €350 million worldwide by 2030 to increase production rates and develop new customer projects. This includes a separate €120 million high-tech plant in St. Martin, Austria, focused on large structural components and next-generation aircraft manufacturing technologies.
The expanded Croatian facility strengthens FACC's European manufacturing network as aircraft production rates increase. Its combination of automated manufacturing and composite production capabilities is intended to support future requirements for lightweight aircraft structures and components.
