Dawn Aerospace has closed a US$25 million Series B financing round, reaching a post-money valuation of approximately US$195 million as the company advances its reusable spaceplane and orbital refueling initiatives.

The investment was led by Balerion Space Ventures and supported by an international syndicate of investors, including Mana Ventures, ANA Future Frontier Fund, Green Eight Capital, Seven Peak Ventures, NZVC, Alpha Funds, Gaingels, Crosscourt, and several strategic individual investors. Existing investors including Icehouse Ventures, Aera Climate and Frontier Fund, GD1, and Shasta Ventures also participated in the round.

Since completing its Series A financing in 2022, Dawn Aerospace has expanded its position in the satellite propulsion sector, with approximately 200 non-toxic chemical thrusters currently operating across more than 50 spacecraft. The company reported significant commercial growth during the period, increasing annual revenue from below US$3 million in fiscal year 2022 to more than US$15 million, while maintaining cash-flow-positive operations and achieving revenue growth exceeding 90% over the past year.

The newly raised capital will primarily support the continued development of Aurora, Dawn Aerospace s reusable spaceplane program. The vehicle is expected to become the first aircraft capable of reaching the K rm n line and returning to perform a second mission within the same day. Dawn plans to deliver the Mach 3.7-capable platform to the State of Oklahoma, with flight operations scheduled to begin in 2027 under a previously announced US$17 million partnership agreement.

The company is also progressing its Loop orbital refueling network, a system designed to enable refueling of spacecraft already operating in orbit. Dawn expects to conduct its first in-space refueling demonstration in 2028. The initiative has already attracted support from multiple organizations, including agreements to integrate Dawn refueling ports aboard satellites operated by the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

As a cash-flow positive company, raising capital is about accelerating the growth of programs we have extremely high conviction in, and that our customers are desperate for, said Stefan Powell, CEO of Dawn Aerospace.

Dawn is doing what few in this category have: building real commercial revenue and a spiral path from in-space propulsion and refueling, to a hypersonic spaceplane, to aircraft-like payload delivery to orbit, all with extraordinary capital efficiency, said Dan Wallman, Partner at Balerion Space Ventures and incoming Series B board member. As the US and its closest allies build joint capability in space and hypersonics, the West needs partners who can deliver reusable, responsive access across the air and space domain. Dawn is one of them.

The funding marks a significant step in Dawn Aerospace s international expansion strategy as it seeks to scale both reusable flight systems and in-space logistics technologies aimed at improving access to space and long-term orbital operations.
