Hamburg-based CompriseTec GmbH, a specialist in polymer and composite technologies, has joined the Industrialized Additive Manufacturing Hub Hamburg (IAMHH). The move expands the network’s access to expertise spanning thermoplastics, thermosets, fiber-reinforced composites, rubber, hybrid materials, and polymer 3D printing.
Founded in 2006, CompriseTec works across material development, component design, process engineering, and manufacturing. Its capabilities include developing glass- and carbon-fiber-reinforced components for the aerospace and automotive sectors, alongside technologies for polymer additive manufacturing. The company operates a technical center in Hamburg covering more than 1,000 m², supporting prototyping and small-series production.
Additive manufacturing is already part of CompriseTec’s R&D portfolio. The company has worked on processes for 3D printing with continuous fiber-reinforced thermoset components, as well as filament-based printing using advanced thermoset materials. Its broader development activities also include biobased thermoplastics, lightweight structures, and manufacturing technologies for reinforced components.
The company is also involved in projects combining additive manufacturing with sustainability. In 2026, CompriseTec showcased its work on the LignoLight project, which develops lignin-containing filaments for 3D printing alongside lightweight material solutions for modular furniture. The project incorporates life-cycle assessment to quantify the environmental performance of the developed materials and components.
Through its membership in IAMHH, CompriseTec will contribute its materials and process-development expertise to a Hamburg ecosystem focused on connecting additive manufacturing technologies with industrial applications. The network said the collaboration will strengthen links between materials, processes, industry, and research.
