Belzona has demonstrated the structural performance of its SuperWrap II composite repair technology through a high-profile load test in which a seven-ton monster truck was driven over a repaired pipe section. The demonstration was designed to highlight the mechanical strength and durability of the company s composite repair system, which is widely used to restore and extend the service life of damaged industrial piping and infrastructure.

Belzona SuperWrap II utilizes a high-performance, solvent-free resin system combined with a specially engineered hybrid reinforcement wrap incorporating both fiberglass and carbon fiber materials. The technology is available with four different resin formulations, allowing the repair system to be tailored to varying operating conditions, environmental exposures, and service requirements.

The composite repair solution is engineered for demanding applications and can operate across a broad temperature range from -60 C to 150 C. The system is designed to address thin-wall and through-wall pipe defects while enabling on-site repairs without requiring component replacement. It can also be applied in wet or submerged environments, expanding its suitability for a variety of industrial maintenance scenarios.

Barry Nisill, CEO at Belzona, said: As we begin our countdown to our 75th anniversary, we wanted to do something memorable that would showcase the innovation and engineering expertise that have been at the heart of Belzona for almost three quarters of a century. Having a seven-ton monster truck drive over a pipe repaired with Belzona SuperWrap II certainly captured people's attention, but it also demonstrated the strength and reliability of a technology that helps customers around the world extend the life of critical equipment and infrastructure.

The demonstration highlights the growing adoption of fiber-reinforced composite repair technologies as asset owners seek cost-effective alternatives to equipment replacement while maintaining structural integrity and operational reliability in critical infrastructure systems.
