Loop Technology, a leading
industrial automation and robotics specialist, has officially opened a
new 1,277 sqm facility in Sheffield, marking a significant milestone in
its UK expansion. The site joins the company s headquarters in
Dorchester, Dorset, and its Bristol office, establishing a strong
presence across key UK regions.
Strategically located near the Advanced Manufacturing Park, just minutes from Sheffield city centre and close to Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham, the new site provides Loop with access to both modern factory space and a deep pool of engineering talent. The company will benefit from proximity to the University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, and advanced research centres such as the AMRC and the COMPASS (Composites at Speed and Scale) facility.
Due to a big upswing in orders,
Loop Technology had to execute a rapid expansion plan. Several sites were
considered but the standout was the Advanced Manufacturing Park, said Alun
Reece, CEO of Loop Technology. With energy-efficient space ready for
occupation and abundant local talent, Sheffield has provided everything we were
looking for. We re building a great, highly skilled team and I m excited to see
how we continue to develop the facility in the coming years.
The Sheffield facility already
houses three FANUC M-2000iA robots, which will support Loop s role in
delivering cutting-edge automated composite manufacturing technologies.
These systems will form part of the COMPASS project, a collaboration with Boeing, Spirit AeroSystems, and the AMRC
under the Isothermic High-Rate Sustainable Structures initiative.
The new site strengthens Loop
Technology s capabilities in advanced manufacturing automation,
reinforcing its commitment to supporting aerospace and industrial partners with
innovative robotic solutions.
