In a strategic move to strengthen U.S. composite manufacturing capacity, Moore Brothers Company has announced the acquisition of the Symmetrix Composite Tooling facility in Bristol, Rhode Island. This agreement includes the transfer of physical assets and staff to Moore Brothers while Symmetrix consolidates operations to its Statesville, North Carolina, location.

The acquisition will result in Symmetrix streamlining its operations to its site in Statesville, NC, while Moore Brothers will take over the space located at 115 Broadcommon Rd. Both Symmetrix and Moore Brothers will still provide comprehensive composite tooling services.

Vertically Integrated Composite Manufacturing in the Northeast

The 45,600 sq. ft. Bristol facility, purpose-built in 2008, includes an 80’ x 20’ large-format CNC machine and a 100’ x 30’ climate-controlled paint booth/oven. Moore Brothers will enhance this infrastructure by adding a 5-axis CMS Ares CNC system and a 60-foot autoclave, positioning the site as a regional center of excellence for composite manufacturing.

“This move raises the ceiling on the size and volume of projects we can support,” said Oliver Moore, Co-Founder and Vice President of Moore Brothers. “The addition of Symmetrix’s skilled team, paired with expanded infrastructure, allows us to operate with greater scale, efficiency, and technical capability.”

    Merging Talent, Capabilities, and Culture

Founded by brothers Oliver and Sam Moore in 2014, Moore Brothers has built a strong reputation for high-performance composite fabrication not only in the marine sector but also in aerospace and advanced industrial applications. The acquisition of Symmetrix RI Tooling Facility aligns with the company’s continued investment in complex tooling, precision engineering, and full-service composite production.

Sam Moore, Co-Founder and President, said, “This merger brings together two experienced and highly capable teams. We’re establishing a collaborative workforce with complementary skillsets, shared values, and commitment to craftsmanship and innovation.”

Jon Barnitt, Founder and President of Symmetrix Composite Tooling, added: “It’s been an incredible journey building the Bristol operation. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and confident that Moore Brothers will carry forward this legacy with vision and purpose. We wish them continued success as stewards of this outstanding facility and team.”
