3M has partnered with JetZero to support the development of blended wing body (BWB) aircraft, contributing structural adhesives, surfacing films, and advanced materials solutions to the programme.
JetZero's Z4 BWB aircraft is designed to deliver up to 50% fuel reduction compared to conventional tube-and-wing aircraft through its aerodynamically efficient blended wing configuration.
Eric Forbes, VP at 3M Aerospace, provided a quote highlighting the role of 3M's structural assembly, lightning protection, and thermal acoustic solutions in enabling the composite-intensive BWB airframe.
As part of the partnership, 3M has also made a Series B investment in JetZero, reinforcing the strategic and financial alignment between the two companies.
