Evonik has achieved a major sustainability milestone by transitioning all epoxy curing agent production plants operated by its Crosslinkers business line to 100% renewable electricity. Facilities in Marl (Germany), Clayton (U.K.), Isehara (Japan), Los Angeles (USA), and Singapore are now powered entirely by green energy, cutting Scope 1 and 2 emissions from these sites by roughly one-third annually. The move supports Evonik s goal to reduce such emissions by 25% by 2030 and reach climate neutrality by 2050.

This decision to use green electricity for the production of our epoxy curing agents globally is another strong step in our sustainability journey, said Tobias Winkler, Global Sustainability Manager, Evonik Crosslinkers. By transitioning to renewable energy sources, we are not only reducing carbon emissions but also paving the way for innovative practices that align with our long-term climate goals.

The shift follows earlier steps to secure renewable energy through green electricity certificates and supply agreements. Christina Walkosak, Senior Vice President Epoxy Curing Agents, added that the change not only supports Evonik s environmental objectives but also addresses growing customer demand for sustainable products.

Evonik s epoxy curing agents are key raw materials for coatings, construction, high-performance composites, and adhesives, making the transition a significant sustainability advance for multiple industries.
